Tech Tips: Canvas Mobile App

I have actually been using the canvas mobile app since the university transitioned to canvas from D2L. I have it downloaded on both my ipad and iphone and find it a very convenient way to check my grades or quickly pull up a file a teacher may have posted. What i find especially helpful with the mobile app is it pairs very well with my ipad when downloading lecture slides. It allows me to directly import them into OneNote.

  1. Evan,
I too have always used the Canvas app on my phone, but I used to find that it didn't work very well and only showed about a fraction of what it on the actual website! I was so happy however when about a month ago the app finally updated! It now looks, and runs just like the real website! Definitely beneficial for all students!

  2. Hey Evan! I too have used the app for a while now and it is very convenient for checking grades as well as when assignments are due. I haven’t used it to go over lectures, but I think I will have to try it out now that I know it is really helpful. The app is very useful, but there is obviously still room for improvements and I look forward to them fixing it up.

  3. Hi Evan! I am right there with you that I use the Canvas app on my phone. It especially makes it easy when professors make you turn assignments in in class. You can just take a quick picture and upload it to the canvas app. Canvas is also much easier to navigate than D2L. Thanks for sharing your tech tip!

  4. Hey Evan!
I have been using the app, as well. I find it super helpful and handy for checking grades, but I didn't even think about using it for downloading lecture slides or anything like that! I will have to try that out. My favorite thing about the mobile app is the little panda wearing a cap that flies on screen when loading things. (I have the android version, so I hope this does it on apple, well). It is so freaking adorable.
